This project consisted of renovations to the existing District Central Operations Warehouse Facility. Work included upgrades in the warehouse area, renovation of the shell space for the District Print Shop and support the relocation of the Network Technology, Instructional Technology and Technology Support Departments.
This work was phased to allow the continuous operation of the warehouse during construction. The print shop required special coordination of MEP requirements for the specialized equipment and the space is conditioned and includes humidity controls for the paper and printing processes.
The building includes a secure lobby, new HVAC and electrical systems, access control and surveillance security systems. Sound control devices are installed in the Print Shop to mitigate the equipment noise as well as in the Technology areas for privacy.
The technology department included executive offices, staff work areas, engineering offices, help desk call center, conference rooms, collaboration spaces, break room and outdoor break area.
A new freight elevator was installed to provide forklift access to the mezzanine and a motorized lift was installed between the dock high space of the warehouse and the print shop for ease of access. as well.
