San Antonio, Texas
Station #115 serves as a central command center for the ESD #7 service area of San Antonio, TX. To accommodate the owners request, the project was completed in two phases; the first being a temporary apparatus bay and storehouse, and the second phase being the construction of the new fire station.
The project has five double occupancy apparatus bays with the first floor housing a shop, general storage, bunker storage, EMS storage, utility closet, decontamination room, six decontamination showers, a fitness center and lobby treatment area. The second floor has twelve bunk rooms, six single room showers and bathrooms, a laundry facility, study room, multi-use conference room, print room, communal office, eight individual offices, IT room, public restrooms, a day room, kitchen, and various storage areas. This facility was built for future expansions and support for regional rescue.
The facility was evaluated from the beginning to achieve the client’s goals by developing a tailored program based on their vision and their needs. The facilities morphed from various plan concepts and elevations, in order to provide synergy between systems to create cost effective solutions.
